Sylvia Mendoza
Freelance writer, editor, author & Speaker
When she held her first child in her
arms in 1987, she knew she couldn't
leave him to return to a 9-5 job. Now
she is the mother of three teenagers, an
award-winning journalist and author of
several books.
The women featured in her latest
non-fiction book, "The Book of Latina
Women: 150 Vidas of Passion, Strength &
Success," so inspired her, she returned
to school where she hopes to someday
earn a masters degree in Women's
Studies. The book opened other doors.
Sylvia now speaks to many women's and
girls organizations on topics such as
"Soaring Past Stereotypes" and offers
writing workshops to students and
professional writers.
